Combination play
What is a combination play in soccer?
In the game of soccer, the term "Combination play" means identifying a certain behavior within the various game situations that allows the individual or the team to concretely resolve it in relation to the intended goal.
The choice of a "Combination play" therefore represents the implementation of a tactical thought of the player or team who, based on the context, choose how to behave. In practice, the "game developments" are nothing more than the words with which to write a text; from here we can understand the importance of having a large dictionary from which to choose the most suitable words to express our thoughts.
What are some good soccer drills?
Each coach, with his own ability to observe and analyze, will be able to extrapolate from the matches and from the study of situations the game developments he considers important and then re-propose them in a simplified way in training by dictating principles and behaviors consistent with his own beliefs and own philosophy.
One of the most important game developments in the possession phase is the shot on goal which embodies the purpose and all the spectacularity of soccer. The shot itself may seem a simple and spontaneous gesture but it must be constantly trained and refined in order to be effective. Accuracy, power and speed of execution are parameters that characterize the quality of the shot.
In the proposed exercises, players will be able to familiarize themselves with multiple situations and therefore get used to elaborating their thoughts and quickly choose the game development to be used, also experimenting with the time and space to be used. In these contexts the coach will be able to affect with individual or team corrections in relation to the ways and times of execution.
