Split the players into two teams, the attacking team with red vests (team G) and the defending team with white vests (team D). The playing area should match the beginning of the field, from the end line where the regulatory goal is, to about 2/3 total of the field. On the end line of the field opposite to the regulatory goal, place two 3-yard-wide mini-goals, each about 5 yards from the side line of the playing area. Set up a cone in the center of the playing area. Balls in possession of the red team. The goalkeeper defends the goal and plays with the defending (white) team.
- The game begins with the attacking team (G) starting from the central cone and passing back to the teammate G1 who drops back
- The aim of team G is to develop an attacking action extended to the sidelines and shooting after a cross
- The aim of team D is to intercept the ball to avoid the shot and score a goal into one of the mini-goals
Example
- Player G5 passes the ball to player G1
- G1 together with the teammates (G2 - G3) performs a series of passes to get to the penetrative pass for the wingers (G4 - G7)
- Wichever winger receives the ball, in the example G7, the related striker (G8 in this case) has to get close to the winger to offer a passing solution
- The winger has to decide if they want to pass to the striker or to cross directly into the box
- After a cross, players G8 - G6 - G4 have to get inside the box to shoot
- Players of team D play as active defenders
- Players of team D, after regaining the ball, have to score in one of the mini-goals
- 1 point for each goal scored by team G
- 2 point for each goal scored by team D
- After each goal scored, the game starts again from the central cone
- Cross is a focused pass and not a random pass
- Encourage players to maintain a high tempo during the exercise
- Focus on shooting technique
- The striker's approach movement must not be constant, otherwise it becomes foreseeable
- Focus on the body positioning when receiving the pass
