Il termine transizione nel calcio indica il passaggio da una fase di possesso palla a una fase di non possesso palla (transizione negativa) e il passaggio dal non possesso al possesso (positiva). Allenare la capacità di adattarsi a queste fasi permette alla squadra una sistemazione tattica migliore nei due casi
