Peripheral vision
La capacità di vedere oggetti ai limiti del campo visivo. In situazioni di elevata attenzione come in una competizione agonistica, il campo visivo tende a restringersi. Questo fenomeno è accentuato in presenza di occhiali e/o lenti a contatto, in quanto la correzione del difetto visivo è spesso meno precisa nelle zone laterali. La visione periferica gioca inoltre un ruolo importantissimo nel mantenimento dell'equilibrio posturale. Attraverso esercizi mirati si è in grado di avere un campo visivo più ampio, fondamentale negli sport di squadra.
