Organization
Place 3 starting cones inside the playing area. One cone 20 meters distant from the regulatory goal close to the right sideline, then place another cone at 20 meters, in front of the goal and the third cone next to the goal (As shown in the figure). Create two small squares 3x3 meters sized inside the box about 11 meters distant from the goal using the markers; place them slightly to the right and to the left of the goal. Striker B moves next to the marker in front of the goal, defender C goes to the cone next to the goal and the rest of the team move in line behind the central cone (See picture). Each player with a ball.
Description
- The first player A starts dribbling and gets to the goal line, while defender C sprints towards one of the two squares
- Striker B sprints at the same time towards the free square
- Player A once he get to the goal line, crosses into the square occupied by striker B
- Striker B completes the action shooting at goal
- Once the series is completed, the 3 players swap positions
Cross from the opposite sideline
Variations
- Make a third square in the center of the area close to the penalty spot
- Player C performs an active defense
Coaching Points
- Encourage the player to keep their head up before crossing
- The movement of the striker and the cross should be done at the proper time
- The striker has to pay attention to the movement of the defender to move as soon as possible into the free square
