Create, with cones, a playing area of 45 yards width and 35 yards depths. Within this area arrange a series of equilateral triangles (each side measures 2 yards), created with markers of a different color. Each triangle must be formed by markers of the same color. Divide the 18 players as it follows: two teams, each made of 8 players (red team and white team in the illustration) + 2 neutral players (yellow players).
- Perform a ball possession 8 v 8, with two neutral players playing with the team with ball possession
- Each team has its own reference colored triangles: red triangles for the red team, blue triangles for the white team
- Neutral players have their own trinagles too (yellow, in the illustration), within wich they can control the ball when they receive it from the players of the team they are playing with
- The objective of both teams is to clear a transmission line for a teammate, so that the ball can reach him and let him do a receiving to turn inside one of the assigned triangles
- Free ball touches allowed
- 1 point for each receiving to turn accomplished within the triangle (I control the ball and then I get out of the triangle)
- It is not permitted to stand still inside the triangles, waiting for a ball pass from a teammate. It is compulsory to receive the ball dictating a movement (getting away from one's marker) within the triangles
- Restrict the number of ball touches for all the players or only for neutral players
- Assign a different score to each triangle: in this case, players can receive the ball in each and every triangle, not depending on the color. The color itself will determine a different score assigned (example: red triangles 1 point, blue ones 2 points, yellow ones 3 points)
- Observe the body movement of the player as he enters the triangle: it must be oriented so that during the way out no collision with an opponent will occur (correct position of the body in the run to get away from the marker, and in the oriented control)
- Take advantage of the numerical superiority in the ball possession phase, trying to create more and more possible passing lines for the ball holder, using width and depth through continuous mobility
- Encourage transition phases to surprise opponents through a quick recapture of the ball and a quick reorganization
- Take care of intensity, speed and quality of passes, to avoid opponents' pressure transmitting the ball within free triangles
- Capability of the players to associate triangle colors to their own possession phase or to their opponents possession phase (cognitive skills and quick processing)
