Starting at the edge of the penalty area, create a square measuring about 10x10 meters / 11x11 yards where you start the play with a 3 (red forwards) against 1 (white defender) possessing the ball (rondo). Adjacent to the square, to the right as far as the sideline of the field, create another zone of 10x12 meters / 11x13 yards where you place another forward. Right after that, up to the sideline, outside the penalty area, create a third zone of 12x16.5 meters / 13x18 yards in which another defending player (white) is positioned. The goalkeeper defends the goal. The same course created in the right area of the field, as in the picture, we can also form on the left, working simultaneously and alternately with situations from the right and left thus involving twice the number of players (12). After two sets, reverse the starting positions of the players on the two work stations.
- At the coach's start:
- The three red forwards in the first square play a 3 v 1 against the white defender
- If the white defender recovers the ball, in order to score, they must either pass it to the goalkeeper outside the goal space or lead it out through one of the three sides of the first square
- The three forwards aim to make a certain number of consecutive passes without interception by the opponent before they can pass the ball to the offensive teammate who is in the second side rectangle (red on the right in the picture)
- The forward passing to the teammate going for the 1 v 1 gives them support by moving inside the second rectangle
- The forward in the second rectangle, once received the ball, quickly enters the third blue rectangle and challenges the white defender in 1 v 1 with the aim of seeking a cross for one of the three teammates who were executing the initial rondo, who meanwhile attack the goal by positioning themselves inside the penalty area
- In the event that the forward is unable to get rid of the defender to cross, he can pass the ball to the teammate who had previously moved to support in the second rectangle, who, one-touch, performs a cross for the third teammate who is in the center of the area who seeks the finalization on goal
- In the 3 v 1 the forwards play with two touches
- The forward attacking the goal has a maximum of two touches to finish
- Rotate players by diversifying their tasks in the game
- Stimulate the forward playing the 1 v 1 to target the opponent at speed
- Encourage the defender to assume the correct posture in the defensive duel
- Work on the timing of insertion of the forward who must finish on goal
- The attacker who finishes on goal must read whether the assist will be with a cross from the back of the field or with a lofted pass from the three-quarter
