Summary | Secondary Objectives |
---|---|
Increase efficiency by combining aerobic and anaerobic systems to perform at very high intensity |
Transition, Passing, Cooperation |
Create a rectangle of 60x40 yards. On both short sides delimit an end zone (yellow zones in the picture). Form three teams of 6 players each. Place two teams inside one half of the field and the third one as in the picture (two players inside each end zone and two players on the halfway line)
- Play a 6 v 6
- Teams score by completing five consecutive passes in one half of the field. They can use the help of the two yellow supporting players on the halfway line
- Once a team completes five passes, they can move the ball into the other half
- The two players inside the end zone on that side join the attacking team
- After each series swap the teams
- Limit the number of touches for the team in possession
- Teams must perform at least a pass to the yellow player on the side before moving the ball into the other half
- Due to the intensity of the exercise (around 90% HRmax), this type of exercise is designed to reach VO2max very fast. Once the VO2max is reached, the body will combine aerobic and anaerobic systems to tolerate this high-intensity exercise. The player will be focused on the game and will not notice the physical work
