Ball mastery and dribbling circuit

Summary

This exercise is suitable for each football class. Gestures and movements are learned faster by youth classes.

Organization

Form a 15x15 meters square using 4 markers. Place a mannequin or 2 poles behind each corner of the square. Place a pole or a mannequin at the centre of the square. Divide the 9 players at each corner (3 players at one cone). Place 9 cones (orange in the figure) on the diagonal, 4 before the central pole equally spaced, and 5 after the pole at different distances. The first 2 players in front of stations A and C start simultaneously.

Description

  1. The first player of station A starts carrying the ball facing the 4 cones using both feet
  2. Once reached the pole performs a dribbling on the yellow space
  3. After passing the pole with a feint, the player passes the ball to a teammate on station B and keeps running to get in line at station B.
  4. The teammate receiving the ball performs an oriented control behind the mannequin to the left side
  5. The player with ball possession passes to teammate on station C and keeps running to get in line at station C
  6. Once received the ball with an oriented control to the left, the new ball carrier has to overtake the mannequin
  7. Then faces the cones spaced with different distances
  8. Once reached the pole overtakes it with the same dribbling then passes to teammate on station D and keeps running to get in line at station D
  9. The teammate overtakes the mannequin with an oriented control
  10. After passing the mannequin, the player passes the ball to a teammate on station A and keeps running to get in line at station A

Variations

  1. Perform the exercise in the opposite station order A, D, C e B
  2. Use only one foot for the whole exercise
